About me
Marek’s journey in the aviation industry began in 1988 when he graduated as an Aeronautical Engineer from Aeronautical College in Hamburg, Germany. Two years later, he started his career at Lufthansa and Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, where he held various positions in the Engine Overhaul and Maintenance Division.
In 2001, Marek joined Ameco Beijing, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Air China, as Executive Director (SVP) for Engine & Component Services and Facility Development and Maintenance. His expertise and leadership skills led him to Hungary in 2005, where he became the Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Technik Budapest. The company specialized in Narrow Body Aircraft MRO and Painting. Marek oversaw the addition of two bays in the existing facility, the expansion of Line Maintenance, and the introduction of additional capabilities. He also led a division-wide Standardization and Shared Services Project and supported the development of new MRO companies in Bulgaria and Malta.
In 2008, Marek took over the CEO position of LTQ Engineering, a new joint venture between Qantas and Lufthansa Technik in Melbourne, Australia. The company specialized in Engine and Component MRO. Four years later, in 2012, he moved to Manila to become the Senior Vice President for Aircraft Base Maintenance at Lufthansa Technik Philippines. He was responsible for seven bays, workshops, aircraft painting, and the restructuring of the entire organization. He also spearheaded the development of a new A380-sized hangar and additional workshops and capabilities.
In 2016, Marek joined Qatar Airways in Doha as Vice President Technical. He led the Base and Light Maintenance, including Workshops, Engine Shop, Ground Support Equipment, Facility Development, and Business Improvement. One of his significant achievements was finalizing the transfer into a newly constructed MRO facility.
Two years later, in 2018, Marek became the Director and General Manager of HAECO Engine Services (formerly TEXL) in Xiamen, China. He was responsible for the redevelopment of an Engine MRO, modifying the Engine Test Cell to accommodate new engine types, and introducing new workshop capabilities. In 2021, he moved to Clark, Philippines, to take on the role of Director and General Manager at SIA Engineering Philippines, leading an expansion project that included new hangars and workshops, a warehouse, and line maintenance.
Presently, Marek has joined MRO Solutions, bringing with him decades of experience and a proven track record of leadership and innovation in the aviation industry.
